How to plan SBCPD activity

Information about teachers’ performance levels and identified needs should be shared at the school level. CPD resource people (deputy head teacher, school subject leader, school-based mentor) can meet to do this and to make an SBCPD plan.

This is so that school CPD makes the best use of the teachers’ at school. For example, teachers who are skilled at giving instructions can share this practice with others by inviting colleagues into the classroom, co-teaching or making a video of a section of the teachers’ lesson to show others. They may work with another teacher to learn more routines for saving time in class.

CPD resource people can use the CPD Plan as a template for making SBCPD plans SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, and realistic and time-bound).

  • What do teachers want to improve?
  • How will teachers do it?
