Learning Task 2.3 : Drafting a ‘working job description’
There is no formal, recognized job description for most School Middle Level Leaders now, apart from Director of Studies. In the future this may change. It may well be that the job varies from school to school, depending on the size of the school and the characters and abilities of its leaders. However, a brief written working job description is a useful tool for directing and focusing activities.
Use the following guide, or template, to create a ‘draft working job description’ for yourself. It should be an accurate description of the role you undertake and the most important tasks you do regularly. Look back at learning Task 2.1 to make sure you capture all the main elements.
